aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaFive and a half years ago, I had a stroke. With pain in my back and legs, i was diagnosed with stenosis of the spine. Walking with a a cane, I was able to get around, but not without stopping for a periodic rest. Six months after all my diagnosis, I saw an ad for comfortable walking shoes. The salesperson put a pair of MBT shoes on me and I was hooked. And I've been wearing them everyday. I just ordered my fourth pair of walking shoes, and I have a dressier style for special occassions. No more back pain, no more leg pain, my balance is better, and most of the time, i get around without my cane. So you spend a little more, but you get it back many times over. They are comfortable, wear very well, clean easily, and it's always fun when somebody asks what kind of shoes you are wearing Try 'em, you'll love 'em !

The MTB shoes take some getting used to. Standing is actually hardest since you feel you're constantly on a rocker. I wear 11 in most shoe brands and ordered a 10.5. That was so big I had to exchange for 10 - the Swiss must have big feet. Still haven't been using them long so I can't talk about longevity, but they seem well-built and are very comfortable once you wear them long enough. I am triathlete but wear these for everyday walking, so I did not get the sore muscles the DVD referred to.
