I recently had extensive foot surgery. When it was time to find a shoe as opposed to "the boot" I went straight to Footwear Etc. After trying on many shoes this New Balance 1123 was the best, and continues to be the most comfortable shoe. It is a lot of shoe, which I had to get use to visually. For me these are a great alternative to the MJB. I've worn them every for the last 3 months. They are most supportive, as well as lightweight so there is no pressure on the top of the foot. In addition the shoe has all around cushioning, and room enough for my foot (feet) to breathe. I have purchased them for my sister who also has had surgery, as well as my mother who has constant sore feet due to bunions. Eventually I will be in strappy sandals again, but until then these are my everyday shoe. When this happens these will continue to be my exercise shoe.
